Title: Rebel Yell

Original Band or Composer: Billy Idol

Notes: Even though this song came out in 1983, it was still in heavy rotation on both the radio & MTV when I went to Los Angeles for the first time in 1987 and that is what I think of when I hear this song. While the album reached No. 6 on the US Billboard 200 album chart. The album has been certified by RIAA 2x platinum and by BPI silver.

This is the second midi file which comes courtesy of http://www.songsterr.com. I couldn't mimic the opening clean guitar licks and I used Halion, which makes it almost sound like a piano. This was my first time to play this song and it took a few takes to get both the rhythm and the solo down.

The Bass via Kontakt's SCARBEE RICKENBACKER (I used Dub Bass configuration & Kontakt's Solid Bus Comp w/ Steinberg's StudioEq Metal Bass Drum preset), Toontrack's EZ Drummer v2 (Kontakt's Solid Bus Comp w/ Steinberg's StudioEq Metal Drum preset), Halion for the GM calliope and halo, along with my guitar going through the Digitech RP500. This song is pretty good engineering wise, but my voice is nowhere near the greatness of Billy Idol. He has one of my favorite voices of all the singers that have ever been. He truly has everything, the deep baritone and the screaming highs of Rob Halford.
