Title: beethoven 5th vst w ew

Original Band or Composer: Beethoven

Notes: I have gone all in with the purchase of the East West CCC Gold package. The horns, strings and woodwinds sound like real instruments. I had to use HALion's GM Bassoon to reach the high notes. Aria's Full Brass Octaves, Easy Sustaining Winds & Full Brass Unison. Also Kontakt 5's Legato Sustain Accent was used for the full string section.

Does it sound like it is $1300 better than the previous version?

I think it does, but maybe my ears are trying to comfort my pocketbook. Either way, going forward, if you feel that the orchestral parts are more life like, then you know why

A little more background on my new East West system, formerly known as Hollywood Strings and if it reminds you of some soundtracks to movies that you have heard, that is because this is what a majority of composers use to make the sound tracks.

When the drive first arrived, last Friday, I installed, authorized and began to use the software, when it prompted me for the instrument libraries. Somewhere between the time of authorization and opening Cubase, the drive was no longer mounted.

I spent most of the weekend trying everything from cp -a, dd & asr to clone the drive, but to no avail, which lead me to return the drive. I felt completely defeated. The world had pulled the wool over my eyes, but I knew that this happens from time to time with all the software and hardware that there is in the world.

You be the judge if it was worth the wait, because I have not been waiting since last Friday. I have been waiting since 1990 to have these kinds of realistic sounds. A co-worker/friend, Scott Odena, used to tell me about these days to come, but they were out of our reach back in 1990. You were right Scott, this day would come and it is here.

Special mention to one of my bassist from the eighties, Frank Powell, who used also tell me about how one day midi and sequencers would help me achieve bringing the sounds in my mind, into reality.

I exported directly to a wav file, followed by using iTunes to convert it to an mp3 file format.
